Common questions
- Is there a map or plan of the Einsiedeln Christmas market?
- Yes: MapMarkt shows the 2026 Einsiedeln Christmas market on a map in the browser, no download – the 131 stalls of the organiser's 2026 exhibitor list in their places on the site plan, sectors A to F, with number and what they sell. The map is independent, not the organiser's site; einsiedler-weihnacht.ch has the final word.
- When is the Einsiedeln Christmas market in 2026?
- From 27 November to 6 December 2026; it opens on Friday 27 November at 5 pm. Opening hours are on the map; the organiser's site has the final word.
- Where in Einsiedeln is the Christmas market?
- Along the Hauptstrasse from the Dorfplatz up to the Klosterplatz in front of Einsiedeln Abbey. The Klosterplatz also has the Märchenarena (fairy-tale arena) and the Märchtbeizli; there is a carousel on the Hauptstrasse.
- What else is there to see around the market?
- The map marks the places on the organiser's overview plan: the Panorama of historic Jerusalem, the Diorama Bethlehem nativity scene, the gingerbread museum (Lebkuchenmuseum), Museum Fram, the model railway at the Zwei Raben centre, the indoor Christmas market in the parish centre and candle dipping. Tap one for the times the organiser gives.
- How do I get there by train from Zurich, and where can I park?
- The organiser recommends public transport: the market is a few minutes' walk from Einsiedeln station, starting at the Dorfplatz; connections from Zurich are in the SBB and SOB timetables. The map marks the parking the organiser names: Parkhaus Brüel, the coach park Brüel and the Friedhof car park.
- Are there toilets, and how do I find a stall?
- Five toilets are on the map: two of the market's own, on the Hauptstrasse and the Klosterplatz, and those at the station, at Brüel and by the abbey. Search by name, stall number or what you want – raclette, mulled wine, candles, nativity figures; stalls you star go into «My visit», a round you can print.
